International Students

EG heronIf you are an international student this is the place for you to learn how to make Kamana work for you. We have hundreds of International Kamana students and several who are Kamana Four Graduates. Below are several resources that will help get you started.

How Does it work to be an International Kamana Student?

The Kamana program is applicable anywhere in the world. We currently have students in at least 19 different countries. There are some things that you need to adjust since it is designed for NorthAmerica. Fortunately, You only have to adjust things in the Resource Trail.

The major things you need to do are 1) find field guides/resources that will give you the tools to research the flora and fauna in your area and 2) figure out what flora and fauna are comparable to the ones we recommend studying.

We teach topics (such as mammals) at a basic level that it is relevant to you as a naturalist, regardless of where you live. You will need to take the necessary steps to take that information to the local level. There are other resources such as www.kamana.org and wildernessawarenessvillage.org that might be helpful.

When you sign up for Kamana.org you get access to the Kamana International Student Database as well. We also have an instructor in the Netherlands that you can choose instead of sending your work far distances. Information on Kamana Europe is below.

Kamana Europeanneke

Anneke Meijer-Treep is our Kamana Europe Instructor. If you are a European Kamana student she is able to respond to your Kamana work if you desire. She also has the ability to read work in German and Dutch (but responses will be written in English). If you are interested in having Anneke respond to your work please follow the instructions below.

The procedure would be to:

1) Sign up for Kamana.org (if you haven't already)

2) Please contact us and let us know you would like to be serviced by Kamana Europe.

3) We will let you know how to proceed from there.

4) At that point you will send in your work to Anneke.

If you have further questions about Kamana Europe please email Anneke at anneke(at)kamana(dot)eu.
